"A Hard Day's Night" reached number one in the US charts two weeks after the Liverpool Premiere of the film. It had debuted at number 21 on July 12th, 1964.

It was the Beatles' fifth US number one, replacing The Four Seasons' "Rag Doll" and only to be replaced by, of all people, Dean Martin: "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime".
